What may happen during visits

Clinicians may check blood pressure, weight, baby growth, blood or urine tests, immunizations, supplements, and symptoms such as bleeding or severe headaches.

Prepare questions

• What danger signs should we watch for?
• Which supplements or medicines are recommended?
• Where should we go for delivery or emergencies?
• What transport and funds should the family prepare?

Danger signs need urgent care

Heavy bleeding, severe abdominal pain, severe headache, swollen face or hands, blurred vision, fever, convulsions, reduced baby movement, or difficulty breathing need urgent medical attention.

Family support makes it easier to attend visits, eat well, rest, and reach care quickly when warning signs appear.
